About Madizen® Jewelry and Madison Marilla

Madizen® is a handcrafted jewelry brand founded by Madison Marilla: an artist and autism advocate known from Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum. Madison creates colorful, stackable bracelets and wearable art that celebrate self-expression, connection, and inclusion.

Madison has been making jewelry since the age of 10. For her, the process of creating is deeply therapeutic. It brings her calm, focus, and happiness. Diagnosed with autism and ADHD, Madison has always viewed her neurodivergence as a strength, not a limitation. She often says:

“Autism is a journey, not a disorder.”

This outlook shaped both her life and her brand. The name Madizen ® merges Madison with the word zen, embodying the peace and joy she finds in creating, and wishes to pass on to everyone who wears her jewelry.

The Heart of the Brand

Madizen® stands for more than jewelry. It’s built on four guiding values:

Authenticity – Every piece is a reflection of Madison’s voice, creativity, and personal journey.

Community – Inclusion, inspiration, and autism awareness are at the core of everything Madizen® represents.

Stability – Just as creating jewelry brings Madison a sense of calm and security, she hopes her designs provide comfort and grounding for others.

Happiness – Bringing joy to others through her art is what motivates her every day.

A Life of Advocacy

Madison’s commitment to advocacy began early. She founded the Autism Awareness Club at her high school in Massachusetts and later organized autism-focused charity events while studying psychology with an art minor at Western New England University. During college, she sold jewelry at campus sporting and charity events, often donating proceeds to support causes close to her heart.

Throughout high school and during college breaks, Madison worked with the Aspirations Program, a therapeutic recreation and social skills group through Sudbury Parks and Recreation. There, she facilitated music and art therapy, yoga, and adaptive sports for elementary and middle school students, and provided one-on-one mentoring for local autistic children. After college, she continued this work in education at Nathaniel Morton Elementary School in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where she served as a special education paraprofessional and activities director, supporting students with special needs both in and out of the classroom.

Giving Back with Every Bracelet

Community is central to the mission of Madizen®. For every piece sold, $1 is donated to Best Buddies, a nonprofit that supports individuals with cognitive and developmental challenges. Madison was actively involved in Best Buddies during high school and is proud to continue supporting their mission.

Through Madizen®, Madison shares the sense of peace, connection, and self-expression that creating jewelry has given her. Every piece carries a story—hers, and yours to stack.
